Spanish architect from BarcelonaA collection of works by Ricardo Bofill. "LA FÁBRICA' is one of the author's most iconic works. Originally a devastated cement factory located on the outskirts of Barcelona, the author accidentally discovered it while driving, and since 1973 it became his home and home to work, and became the center of the life of the now-deceased Catalan architect.
"It means "factory"La Fabrica” became a place for the author to create his own unique world. The concrete formwork, which had been buried under the dust and smoke that had accumulated over the years, was exposed, to help the structure be covered in green, and the balance between enormous scale and delicate and human sensibilities was finely adjusted. "La Fabrica” was one of the earliest examples of reuse of industrial buildings, and continues to change even after more than 40 years.
