A collection of works by Swiss artist Sophie Taeuber-Arp. It was published in conjunction with an exhibition held at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York from November 2021 to March 2022. This project is the first exhibition by the artist to be held in the United States in about 40 years, and comprehensively introduces a wide range of works using abstract expression. His career as an applied arts professor, dancer, puppet maker, artist, and editor, as well as his work with the Zurich Dada movement and his projects in architectural space, were versatile and essential to the development of the visual language of his vivid abstract works. Through his own work and collaboration with various industries, the artist has blurred the historically established boundaries between craft/design and art.

The book explores the author's multidisciplinary approach to abstraction and includes approximately 300 works, including textiles, beadwork, colorful marionettes, architecture and interior design, stained glass, works on paper, paintings and relief sculptures, drawn from over 50 public and private collections in Europe and the United States. Furthermore, the 15 essays included in this book are arranged into six sections, similar to the exhibition's structure, and each essay follows the author's activities in chronological order. The book also includes an illustrated chronology of exhibitions, the author's first essay on materials and techniques, and a list of exhibits based on new research and analysis. You can see the wide range of the author's works.

Prior to the exhibition at the museum, an exhibition was also held at the Basel Museum in the artist's hometown of Switzerland. The exhibition at Tate Modern in London was the first retrospective exhibition in the UK.
