CEDARWOOD 5th Anniversary Exclusive – Hand-Knit Reversible Vest
We received a call from Mr. Sawaura of CEDARWOOD as a bespoke project to commemorate their 5th anniversary.
During the meeting, I asked them to pick out the ``Leather x Cashmere Reversible Vest'' and ``24/25 AW Season Hand-knit Tyrolean Jacket'' from the collection, and I imagined that I could combine these two models.
We proceeded with the design in the direction of "re-creating hand-knitted clothing as a vest."
Yarn & Material
The main material is made from 4 pieces of lambswool 2/20, which is the same as the Tyrolean jacket, and used for the base.
This yarn has both fullness and lightness, and has a soft appearance while retaining its shape.
We then combined feather yarn and glass bead yarn to create a decorative yet unified look.
The base of each edging and pocket part is made of crocheted glossy cotton yarn in the form of a tape.
It expresses the contrast and depth with the base wool.
Design Concept
While imagining CEDARWOOD's worldview, we combined SARTO's neat and crafty atmosphere.
The individuality of both was expressed through the volume of the glass beads and the use of leather tape on the sides. On the front, at Mr. Sawaura's request, we use the original SARTO x someya hook that features a sheep's face, which was also used on the Tyrolean jacket.
In addition, the hand-knitted arch-shaped crocheting of the front and rear yokes requires a very high level of skill, but
Achieved a natural and beautiful finish by skilled weavers.
This is a special piece that comfortably combines the images of both brands.
