A collection of works by American artist Stanley Whitney. He continued a wide variety of experiments using a roughly drawn go board for more than 30 years, and created its own rules for the order of color. In order to recall harmony or contrasting relationships, the author builds an abstract configuration by stacking colorful blocks and lines three or more, and arranges the color in a well -balanced manner. There are diverse different tensions and borders between these colors, so you can create infinite combinations. On the other hand, the final composition of each work depends on the relative density, transparency, and blurred condition of the traits, which are trademarks. The author says that the mosaic pattern production process with the characteristics of the painting is a continuous fine -tuning format, which is athletic that always keeps the effort to keep the condition optimal. This is probably the most correct definition of artistic "training". Performing a performance "dance" performed toward the canvas, "Call and Response" technique that determines the next color next door in a "interaction" method in music, what created by the author is a strong connection with music. 。 There are some paintings that are full of colors and shapes in the canvas, which are polyphorism and a sympathetic sense, but jazz and African music are often mentioned as the source of the work. Nevertheless, the author, who has a connection that never disappears in the history of painting, quotes Cezanne and Veronese as easy as Charlie Parker and Ornette Coleman's songs. This book was published in the exhibition held at Lisson Gallery in London from May 20 to July 2, 2016.
