Palaka Jacket was developed as workwear for Japanese immigrants in the early 1900s when they worked in Hawaii. Due to the weather, it is characterized by its design that makes it light and feels like a shirt, and the buttons are also made with small shell buttons. The OZONE BLEACH processing is inspired by sunburn, and traditional checkered patterns are expressed through discharge dyeing prints. The pin check fabric on the base was researched and reproduced from the fabric used in American work jackets in the 1910s. This is a reproduction of original indigo thread and yellowed rice cotton thread woven using an old-fashioned power loom. The finishing touch is degreased with a dry touch with oil removed, expressing the passage of time.
