Based on an American hospital jacket from the 1940s. A hospital jacket is a jacket that is loaned out at a military hospital when injured and sick soldiers go out.
On May 21, 1941, there was an article in the New York Times that stated that the US military was the first to design clothes for wounded soldiers and adopted MAROON as the colour. MAROON means Cheerful, and appears to have been adopted as a test of its meaning to liven up the people during World War II and durability through washing. T.T tried and error to express Maroon using natural dyeing, and ended up using BURGANDY, which has a purple tint than MAROON. Made from satin fabric with high density of weft threads. By applying a silken finish to enhance dyeing, the material has been created with a beautiful texture with good color.
NATURAL DYED BURGUNDY is dyed with a natural dye based on Akane. "Akane" is the oldest red dye used in Japan, and the history of Akane dyeing dates back to the Yayoi period. T.T has been adjusted to create a deeper color.
